Songs from the Secret House
This album is a collaboration with talented young musicians. Mees Siderius is not only playing drums, but also percussion ánd….vibraphone, one of my favorite instruments. Koen Boeijinga is a wonderful composer and saxophone player, who experiments with all kinds of exotic instruments, bells, whistles etc. He added great colour to the album. Mieke van Dam is a phenomenal maker and improviser, unique in her performances. On this album she added amazing melodies on theremin. On one piece, Rogier Hornman contributed his cello magic and last but not least there are alto-clarinet solo’s by the established and unique Steven Kamperman, extraordinary player and great friend. Artwork and photography are made by Monique Besten. Pjotr Lasschuit did a great job mixing and mastering the album, which was no small endeavour: how to bring out the specific colours of the preparations and instrument in such a way that a coherent and transparent sound is created.
